Leading Australian beauty salon franchise Brazilian Beauty is continuing to build its reputation as a leader in the industry, with its 20th salon set to open on Saturday, 13 December.
The milestone store, located in north Brisbane suburb Albany Creek, will be co-owned by Brazilian Beauty CFO and existing franchisee, Julie Wright and one of the business’ longest-standing therapists, Briege McGrath.
Co-owning a Brazilian Beauty salon is a “dream come true” for Irish-born Briege, who started her journey with the franchise while backpacking through Australia is 2005.
Briege thrived in her role at Brazilian Beauty, which at the time had only been operating for one year after opening its first salon in New Farm in 2004.
At the end of her six-month working visa, Brazilian Beauty successfully sponsored Briege to stay in Australia and continue as a full-time therapist.
As a young therapist, Briege said Brazilian Beauty gave her the opportunity to progress and move forward in her career.
“Brazilian Beauty has been so nurturing and supportive,” she said.
“They constantly provide training and make you feel a part of the family.”
Briege progressed to a salon manager role, working across two salons before she returned to a therapist position at Ashgrove, where she met her new business partner, Julie.
When the opportunity to own the Albany Creek store arose, Julie offered to go into partnership with Briege.
Having just had her first child, Briege said the partnership opportunity allowed her to own the business with ease as she settled into family life.
“I am so thankful for the opportunity Brazilian Beauty has given me. When I first came to Australia I never thought I would one day own a business here,” she said.
Briege said Brazilian Beauty was perfect for any beauty therapists looking to progress their career in the industry.
“Brazilian Beauty is all about team member development and putting in the effort to get the best from their therapists,” she said.
“I love the Brazilian Beauty formula. It’s very professional and the team members are always happy. It is a fantastic pathway for anyone interested in the beauty industry.”
Briege said she was excited to be opening Brazilian Beauty’s 20th salon.
“I have been with Brazilian Beauty since almost the beginning and have seen the business grow over the years so it means a lot to be a part of this milestone,” she said.
Brazilian Beauty founder and CEO Francesca Webster said success stories like Briege’s demonstrated the business’ focus on nurturing its team members.
“The training we provide encourages team members to progress and we are thrilled to see Briege achieve her dream of owning a salon with Brazilian Beauty Albany Creek,” she said.
“It is a significant milestone for the business and we look forward to seeing Briege and Julie thrive with the new salon.”
Brazilian Beauty Albany Creek is hosting a grand opening event to celebrate 20 salons on Saturday, 13 December from 11am.
There will be special promotions on the day including 25% off any treatment and free mini-makeovers.
The salon is located at Albany Creek Square, 700 Albany Creek Road, Albany Creek and can be contacted on (07) 3264 3000.
