Brazilian Beauty Bendigo franchisee Sandra Campbell is more than just a mum to her daughter Kathryn Campbell.
The mother-daughter duo successfully run the Fountain Court beauty salon together and their working relationship is just as strong as their personal bond.
Going into the business together in 2009 was the perfect scenario for the two.
Sandra was still working full time so Kathryn, who had just finished university, stepped in as salon coordinator to manage the business for as long as necessary.
Now, almost seven years later, Sandra and Kathryn have together grown their salon to become one of the most successful in the Brazilian Beauty network.
The salon received eight awards at the annual Brazilian Beauty Awards in February including Franchisee of the Year, Management Team of the Year and Coordinator of the Year.
Sandra said their business achievements are a credit to the trust and open communication shared only between a mother and daughter.
“All of our decisions are based on honesty and integrity,” she said.
Kathryn said having her mum as her business mentor inspires her everyday.
“Mum is generous with her family, friends, employees and her community,” she said.
“She is incredibly supportive and strong and would give the clothes off her back for her family and those close to her.
“I only hope of one day becoming half the woman my mother is.”
Sandra will celebrate Mother’s Day with Kathryn, her two sons and two grandsons.
“Motherhood has taught me many things: patience, compassion, empathy, sense of humour,” she said.
“I am very proud of my children and there is nothing better than being grandmother.”
This Mother’s Day, Sandra and Kathryn want mothers in the Bendigo community to take time out for themselves.
“Mothers give so much to their children and partners, so taking time out to relax and have a pamper is very rare,” Sandra said.
“Brazilian Beauty Bendigo will be all about Mum on the lead up to Mother’s Day and beyond.”
