Central Queensland is preparing for yet another major community event with resource auction leaders, Hassalls, hosting another major sale from the Curtis Island LNG Project.
Following its hugely successful auction in early February, Hassalls is back with a revamped catalogue full of value products for its next ‘ultimate bloke auction’ at Gracemere on Wednesday 2 March.
Among other things, items such as pie warmers, shipping containers, Samsung fridges and water bubblers showcase the range of products that will be up for grabs at the auction, which is part of Bechtel’s massive dispersal of the Curtis Island LNG Project.
The sale will also see a variety of standard vehicles go under the hammer at great prices, including Nissan Navaras, Ford Rangers, Volkswagen Transporters and Toyota Prados, Land Cruisers and Hilux’s.
Hassalls General Manager, Steve Wall, said these traditional on-site auctions are all about connecting with the people and families of Central Queensland, particularly in Gracemere and Gladstone.
“These traditional auction events at our local yards in Gracemere and Gladstone mean a great deal to us and the local communities who get the pick of what’s on offer,” Mr Wall said.
“They have become important community events that support sporting teams and charities that do so much good for the region. A single charity BBQ in Gracemere can generate $1,500 for a local charity or sporting team.”
“Last year we ran an auction on behalf of Bechtel specifically for workers from Curtis Island and together we raised more than $100,000. That’s the sort of community spirit that exists up here and Hassalls loves to be a part of it.”
A large turnout is expected following record-breaking attendance at last month’s auction, where over 95% of available product was sold.
Reopening the family business Adams’ Sheds is now on the cards for local residents Doug and Esme Adams, after landing a $12,000 deal on a set of six office spaces at Hassalls’ Gracemere auction last month.
Hassalls is conducting a series of Curtis Island LNG Project auctions on behalf of NYSE-listed Liquidity Services, which has over 7,000 clients, three million registered buyers and achieves over $1 billion in sales.
