The next round in the $50 million Hassalls “Ultimate Bloke Auction” will kick off in Gracemere (Rockhampton) tomorrow, Wednesday 4 May at 10am.
Hundreds of businesses, tradies and punters out for a good buy came along to the last auction on Wednesday 6 April and Hassalls General Manager, Steve Wall, is expecting an even bigger turn out tomorrow.
“Last month the local community came in force and we managed to sell more than 90 per cent of available stock,” said Mr Wall.
“We see so many different types of people on the day, from local businesses and farmers to international buyers seeking to fit out larger mining projects.
“The variety and quantity of equipment coming in this month is staggering, so if you’re in the market for anything from an everyday toolbox to large construction equipment, this auction is for you.”
Over 300 lots will go under the hammer tomorrow with large items including trucks, trailers, compactors, extendable flat deck trailers, four-wheel drives and shipping containers. Smaller equipment includes Knaack toolboxes, shelving, drill bits, spray units, welding equipment, lighting towers and 11 rolls of black plastic.
A wide range of light commercial vehicles will also be on sale, including Toyota Hilux’s and Landcruisers, Mitsubishi Outlanders and Tritons, Nissan Navaras and Patrols, and Ford Rangers and Territory SUVs.
“We welcome buyers to join us via webcast or head over to Gracemere to check out the stock for themselves, but be sure to bring your A-game because we’re expecting a lot of interest,” said Mr Wall.
Hassalls is conducting a series of Curtis Island LNG Project auctions on behalf of NYSE-listed Liquidity Services, which has over 7,000 clients, three million registered buyers and achieves over $1 billion in sales.
Hassalls puts a strong focus on local communities, raising money for schools, sports teams and programs in the area.
“We give local charities the opportunity to run a BBQ at each on-site auction, where they can raise upwards of $1,500,” said Mr Wall.
“This allows the auction to impact the local community past the day itself, which is something we love to see.”
